Surrounded by mature gardens, trees and green fields in the quiet village of Magheralin, Newforge House offers peace and tranquility, yet is less than 30 minutes drive from Belfast.

Our Georgian Country House, dating from around 1785, has been handed down for six generations.  Two years of sensitive restoration was carried out before John and Louise Mathers opened Newforge House to guests in 2005.  In converting the family home we have undertaken sensitive restoration works to seamlessly blend original period features and antiques with contemporary luxuries and facilities.

Our six individually designed double bedrooms offer lavish en-suite accommodation. While our cosy drawing room, with plenty of soft furnishings and an open log fire, is the perfect place to relax before adjourning to our elegant dining room to enjoy an excellent meal.  Food is an important part of our welcome to guests.  Where possible we usual local, seasonal ingredients, organic dairy produce and free-range meats.

At Newforge House we aim to combine good old-fashioned hospitality with the best modern conveniences to ensure that our guests enjoy a relaxing and memorable stay.

Newforge House is also the perfect setting for your special occasions. Whether you’re planning an intimate dinner party with friends or a wedding, large or small, we can provide an expert service tailored to meet your personal requirements.

Our grounds offer additional flexibility and variety, with space for large marquees and hidden corners for small gatherings.
